Swimming

Thanks to the Pam McConnell Aquatic Centre in Regent Park, Lord Dufferin is able to provide students from grade 5 to 8 with free swimming lessons as part of the Phys. Ed. curriculum. Each class will have a 3-week module with swimming instruction provided on the Monday, Tuesday , and Wednesday of each week during afternoon class time.eck by 2:00. Lessons will be about an hour in length.

All students are required to participate. Please return signed permission forms when your class' module comes around, and have a swimsuit and towel ready.

This is an exceptional opportunity for our students, particularly if they and don't know how to swim at all. Learning the basics like floating, treading water, proper breathing and simple strokes could mean the difference between life and death if for some reason, they found themselves in a situation involving water and needed to know the basics for their personal safety.

Currently, Mr. Quinlan's Gr 7 & 8 boys, as well as Ms Addie's Gr. 7 boys are completing their module. Their last day is Wednesday, October
