Candidates for the 2026-2027 School Advisory Council Elections

The School Advisory Council Elections for Thomas L. Wells will be held on October 8, 2026 at 6:00 pm in the school library.

Anah Hossein 

  • I’m Anah Hoosein and I have 4 children currently attending Thomas L. Wells. As a new parent to the council, I look forward to learning more about our school operations and help build strong connections between home and classroom. Arvinda Chetram

  • I am pleased to nominate our Arvinda Chetram room for another term on School Council. As secretary during the 2025-2026 school year, Arvinda was more than someone who kept things organized - he was steadily independent leader who played an important role whole in helping our school council work effectively. Arvinda bring the thoughtful, caring and collaborative approach to everything he does. He is someone who listens, follows through, and is always willing to step up when the school council community need support. His commitment to our students and families was evident in the way he contributed to school council initiatives, supported fellow council members, and help keep our work moving forward. What I appreciate most about Arvinda is that his leadership is genuine and grounded in service. He may not always be the loudest voice in the room, but he is someone you can count on, and his contributions make a real difference.I believe his experience, dedication and strong sense of community would make him a valuable member of School Council for another year. Gowsic Satgunalingam

  • Gowsic Is an active member of school council over the past year, he has consistently contributed to our school community and helped organize and manage the parent WhatsApp group. His strong communication, technology, and media skills would be a valuable asset to the Council and help support our communication and outreach efforts throughout the school year. Janeki Kantharupan

  • I’m Janeki and i have 2 children currently attending TLW. I served on the council last year as Co-Chair, where I enjoyed working alongside other parents, staff, and members of our school community to support our children and help make a positive difference.   Being involved in the Parent Council is important to me because I believe that when parents and the school work together, we can create meaningful opportunities and a positive environment for our children. I would love to continue contributing my time, ideas, and energy to support the school community.  (Self Nomination)

  • I am pleased to nominate Janeki for another term on School Council. During her time has Co-Chair in 2025-2026, she brought a wonderful combination of dedication, warmth, and thoughtful leadership to our school community. Janeki genuinely cares about creating a positive experience for our students and families and is always willing to step up, lend a hand, and help turn ideas into action. She has been an important part of strengthening our school community by supporting parent engagement, student focused initiatives, fundraising, and activities that help families feel more connected and involved. What stands out most about Janeki is a genuine care she brings to her role. She listens, collaborates, and consistently looks for ways to make a meaningful difference. Her commitment to our students, families, and school community makes for someone I would be very happy to see continue serving on our School Council (Parent Nomination)

 

Jani Siva

  • I bring strong communication, organization, problem-solving, conflict resolution and collaboration skills from my professional and community experience. I am comfortable reviewing concerns, listening to different perspectives, working collaboratively, and helping find practical solutions. I also have experience running Peace Camp, a peace-themed youth workshop where I helped organize and facilitate activities promoting cooperation respect, communication, and positive relationships. As an involved parent with previous School Council and Caring & Safe Schools Committee experience, I am particularly interested in student well-being, safety, inclusion, academic success and strong parent-school communication. I look forward to contributing my experience, ideas, and time to the Thomas L. Wells school community.   (Self Nomination)

 

Krina Patel   

  • I am pleased to nominate Karina Patel for another term on school canceled period as Treasurer during the 2025-2026 school year, Karina demonstrated a strong sense of responsibility, reliability, and commitment to our school Community period She approached her role with care and attention, helping ensure that our council's resources were managed thoughtfully and supported the initiatives that mattered most to our students and families period what stood out about Karina was that her contribution went beyond her responsibilities as treasurer period She was a supportive and engaged member of the council who was always willing to contribute ideas, help or needed, and work collaboratively with others. Her thoughtful approach and genuine care for a school Community made her someone we could rely on period Karina's dedication, positive attitude, and willingness to contribute make her a valued member of our school council period I would be very happy to hear continuing this role and build on the meaningful contribution she has already made. Mekala Rajendrean 

  • I am pleased to nominate Mekala for another term on School Council. Having served as Co-Chair during the 2025-2026 school year, Mekala has shown an incredible love of commitment, passion and care for school Community. She is someone who genuinely wants to make a difference not only for our students, but for families and the broader School Community as well. Mekala consistently goes above and beyond to support the school, from finding ways to strengthen parent engagement and champion mental health initiatives to help organize fundraising efforts and create meaningful opportunities for students and families. Her leadership comes from a place of genuine care, and she brings energy compassion and a strong sense of community to everything she does. I believe Mekala experienced dedication and passion make her an invaluable member of the school council and I would be very pleased to see her continuing this role. (Parent Nomination)

 

Theeban Jegatheesan 

  • Theeban has been a dedicated member of the School Council for the past 10 years and currently serves on the Executive Council.  His years of involvement and reflect his strong commitment to our school community and his willingness to contribute wherever help is needed.  He has been actively involved in supporting Council initiatives, including assisting with media and helping organize and run Movie Night. Theeban brings a strong work ethic, reliability, and a positive, team-oriented attitude to everything he takes on. He is dependable, organized, approachable, and always willing to step in and lend a hand. His experience, leadership, and understanding of our school community make him a valuable asset to Council.
