Victoria Village P. S. is pleased to continue with our Future ACES philosophy. Each month, there is a school wide focus on one characteristic of Future ACES behaviour and a password phrase to remind students how to display that characteristic. At the end of each month, we have a monthly assembly to celebrate, recognize and award students who display the Future ACES characteristic. We strongly encourage our school community to attend our monthly assemblies to help us celebrate.
Herbert H. Carnegie first created the Future ACES philosophy in 1956 to inspire youths to become the best they can be. Students are given the opportunity to build their self-esteem and self confidence, develop self-respect as well as respect for others. They learn to resolve conflicts peacefully and are encouraged to be responsible, peaceful, confident and caring citizens. It focuses on the positive rather than the negative by recognizing and encouraging attitudes and actions that are desirable and constructive. In striving to become a Future ACE, students learn attitudes and approaches that they can build on throughout their lives. Future ACES are people who are always trying to do better.
