Canadian Communities in the Early 1800's

Students will play as a family unit in Canada circa early 1800’s and try to survive using local trees. Perspectives of First Nations, Metis, Habitants, Early Settlers, and Blacksmiths are showcased as students must find plants with specific uses their family unit requires to survive.  Trading knowledge, acquiring medicine and getting goods and services and other aspects of early living are all explored as part of this simulation activity. The afternoon portion of the day, provides an opportunity to participate in a variety of Early Settler and First Nation games.
