Student Timetables

STUDENT TIMETABLES

  • Grade 9, 10, 11 students MUST BE registered in 8 courses at WCI.
  • Grade 12 students are advised to stay with 8 courses.  If a student has earned 24 credits by June of grade 11, they may carry a minimum of 6 courses if their diploma is not at risk.
  • Students in 5th year MUST have 6 or more courses on their timetable. Approval by a Vice Principal is needed before being enrolled in a fifth year.

TIMETABLE CHANGES

Timetable changes are only done on an exception basis after June, given the impact on class sizes and balance.  Students have the responsibility of ensuring that their timetable is appropriate before that date.  Consultation with a counsellor is advisable.

If students would like to request a timetable change:

  • Students are expected to attend the courses that are on their timetable which were emailed to them prior to the start of the school year.
  • If students would like to request a timetable change at the beginning of the semester or have an incomplete timetable, then they should submit their request through the Weston Course Change Request Google Form https://forms.gle/iHn6WLArLUxtxGx37  .
  • Requests will be reviewed by the respective guidance counsellor and changes will be made based on priority of need, not in the order the requests are submitted.  Priority will be given to students who do not have a complete timetable, who do not have the appropriate prerequisites or have already taken the course.
  • Not all requests will be possible or fulfilled.
  • Course request forms will only be accepted until Friday, September 6, 2024 for Sem 1 and Friday, February 7, 2025, for Sem 2. After these dates students will be required to complete the WCI Request for Course Type Transfer Form- changes to timetables will only be made for exceptional circumstances and need to be approved by the Principal
  • Guidance counsellors will reach out to students if the change is made and/or if they need to speak to the student regarding the course request change.  Students are NOT to go to guidance during class time without an appointment.
