In
Grade 9 and 10, the emphasis is on voice and physical theatre (acting with the
full body), along with working collaboratively to
create and present small original works. Improvisation, choral
techniques and character development are used to explore and develop skills. In
Grade 11, students focus more intensively on scene study as well as being
introduced to devising techniques and other modern acting styles. In
addition, students in grades 9-11, have the opportunity to present their work
as part of our Fall Showcase production. The Performance Drama program
culminates in Grade 12 with the presentation of a fully staged production of a
published play with a guest director from the professional community.
