Two Memo Students Compete at the TDSB Skills Competition

MedalsOn March 19, Jainam Shah and Kristine Arcadio (both Grade 9 students) competed at the 29th Annual TDSB Secondary Technological Skills Competition. Jainam and Kristine competed in the IT Office Software Solutions for Business. The competition was 5 hours in length and consisted of completing tasks in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Publisher and PowerPoint; as well as a resume and job interview portion. A big congratulations goes out to both students who performed extremely well in their first year of the competition. Kristine placed 2nd in LC1 earning a Silver Medal and Jainam placed 1st in LC1 earning a Gold Medal. Jainam will go on to compete at the Provincial Skills Competition for York Memorial, May 7 in Toronto; competing against many students from around the province. Should he place at the Provincial Competition, Jainam will move forward with Team Ontario to the National Competition in Halifax, Nova Scotia at the end of May.
