Youth Mentorship Summit - December 5, 2018
Approximately 200 YMCI students attended an all-day Youth Mentorship Summit on Wednesday, December 5th at the Montecassino Hotel and Event venue. The Summit was hosted by MP Ahmed Hussen in partnership with the Giants of Africa Organization founded by Toronto Raptors manager Masai Ujiri.
A few of the speakers and attendees for the event included the following:
- Honourable MP Ahmed Hussen, MP of York South Weston and Federal Minister of Immigration, speaking on his life story and vision for York South-Weston Community
- Masai Ujiri, Raptors President, The Inspiration of Mandela
- Auma Obama, Community Activist, speaking on the Importance of Women in Our Community
The aim of the summit was to motivate and inspire the youth in the York South-Weston area to dream big and to hear what it takes to be achieve their dreams.
YMCI would also like to congratulate the following students who performed at the summit and provided outstanding performances.
