Island Natural Science School Overnight Trip - Grade 5/6s

Last week, the Grade 5/6 students embarked on an overnight field trip to the Toronto Island Natural Science School. Over the course of three days, they took part in a range of activities centered around biodiversity. These included orienteering, bird feeding, planting vegetables for the spring, and photography. In the evenings, they explored nature through a night hike and a walk to the lighthouse. It was wonderful to see the students collaborating, sharing meals, and immersing themselves in the natural environment.

Grade 7/8 Ski Trip

On Tuesday, 27 brave Grade 7 and 8's went skiing at Snow Valley. Everyone had so many fantastic new experiences: driving to Barrie, walking in ski boots, learning to snow plow, skiing down hills, and riding magic carpets and chair lifts. Best of all, everyone came with a positive attitude and tried their best all day. Thank you to all of the staff and families for your support with such a big trip! It was awesome to see so many smiles!

Intermediate Girls Volleyball Tournament

The grade 7/8 girls were amazing at their volleyball tournament on Monday! They played with heart, sportsmanship, and a positive attitude. We had some amazing rallies, serves, and most importantly, teamwork. Congratulations on a great tournament, girls!

Junior Girls Volleyball Tournament

The junior girls' volleyball team had a fantastic tournament on Tuesday. They worked as a team with positivity, a good attitude, and excellent volleyball skills! They rallied, cheered for each other, and came home with a win against Lord Dufferin! We came in second place overall. Amazing work, team!

Black History Month Potluck

A group of very eager and lovely junior students are planning a potluck to cap off Black History Month! They have been working on the flyers and posters about the potluck. Different African and Caribbean cuisines and dishes will be featured and shared at the event! See the flyer for more information!

Lion Dancers from Riverdale CI

This Friday we have the pleasure of welcoming back Riverdale CI's group of high school Lion Dancers who will be performing for the school in the afternoon! Last year they were a huge hit and the kids and staff loved the liveliness of the performance and having the hands-on experience of trying on the lion costumes! (pictures from last year).
