EQAO - Understanding EQAO Results

Special Education programs have an impact on the EQAO (Education Quality and Accountability Office) results of schools. Clinton is proud to host three special education programs.

EQAO provincial standardized tests for grades 3 and 6 are not developmentally appropriate for all of our students in special education programs. However, EQAO's primary method of reporting results counts any students not taking the test as a zero, when calculating school EQAO scores, and does not separate out the results of those special education students who do participate in some parts of the EQAO assessment.

For this reason, the EQAO scores you see published are not an accurate assessment of the achievement of students attending the regular and gifted programs at Clinton Street Public School.
