Georges Vanier Secondary School (GVSS) is a dynamic learning environment with a wide variety of opportunities to meet the needs of all students. We provide a broad range of Ontario Curriculum courses in a variety of different subject areas. We offer a STEM+ enriched program in Mathematics and Science for students in grade 9-12 that takes a Global and a Social Justice perspective in the delivery of the curriculum. We also offer four Specialist High Skills Major (SHSM) programs (Aviation & Aerospace, Arts & Culture, Business, and ICT) to support the different academic interests and passions of our students.
At GVSS, we serve a highly diverse student population and we are dedicated to preparing students to be successful in the global economy. Our students are challenged to analyze, build and communicate their ideas effectively in a learning environment that is equipped with amazing multi-media labs, music and art studios, a flight simulator and high technology production equipment including a 3D printer and laser cutter.
We support all students; from those wishing to study a rigorous enriched curriculum, to students with developmental challenges. We strives to instill a strong sense of community service and civic engagement in our students . Ours students' responses to local and international crises are a demonstration of the spirit of social responsibility at the school.
