Our School’s Terry Fox Run

On Friday September 26th, our school did a Terry Fox run all around our school. We marked an area of the field as each province that Terry Fox ran in before he died. We also raised $282.65 for cancer research. The run was led by Ms. Kastanis.

Terry Fox’s Story

Terry Fox was born on July 28, 1958, and died on June 28, 1981. He was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He died of, unsurprisingly, cancer. He spent 143 days raising money for cancer research. He ran from Newfoundland to West Ontario. His cancer returned, this time in his lungs, and he had to stop his run near Thunder Bay.
