PRO (Parents Reaching Out) Grant Survey

The Ministry of Education's PRO Grant program is designed to support parents in identifying barriers to parent engagement in their own community and to find local solutions to involve more parents in support of student achievement and well-being.
All applications must be approved through a motion of the local school council. Our past grants allowed for us to hold a Family Math Night (2016) and Internet Safety (2015).

Oriole Park School Council wants to know which topic is most of interest to you. Click here to complete a brief survey.

FDK Before/After-School Program/Lunchroom Supervision Review

The Toronto District School Board (TDSB) is reviewing before- and after-school programs and lunchtime supervision for children in full-day kindergarten (FDK) classrooms, so we can learn about areas of strength and areas for improvement. The project is being guided by Dr. Joel A. Lopata, an external research consultant leading the collection and analysis of information gathered. If you are parents/guardians of 4 and 5-year-old children who have direct experience with FDK Before- and After-School Programs and/or Lunchroom Supervision in FDK classrooms, please click here.

To donate, visit https://tdsb.schoolcashonline.com or send a cheque payable to TDSB with your name and address. Proceeds go to the Oriole Park Enriched Outdoor Learning Centre.

A Message from Toronto Public Health

Toronto Public Health (TPH) is investigating a mumps outbreak in the city. The mumps virus is found in saliva, and is spread through coughing, sneezing, kissing, and sharing drinks, utensils, food or water bottles. The majority of the mumps cases in Toronto have been confirmed in young adults aged 18 to 35 years; however, recently a case was identified in a Toronto school. Click here for more details in a letter from Toronto Public Health.
