Registration for all TDSB Kindergarten programs begins in February.
We look forward to welcoming you and your child! You may choose to register using the online registration system or by booking a virtual face-to-face meeting directly with your school.
Children who will be four by December 31, 2023, can start Junior Kindergarten in September 2023.
To begin the registration process proceed to this website https://www.tdsb.on.ca/EarlyYears/KindergartenMonth and complete an Online Registration. Once you have submitted an online registration our Office Administrator Michelle Sheehan will contact you to set up a virtual meeting to complete the registration.
Once you have completed the online portion of the registration process, you will receive a confirmation e-mail, including information about next steps. Please be sure to check your Inbox and Junk Mail folder to avoid missing the e-mail. You can also email Michelle Sheehan (our Office Administrator) once you have submitted your online application to book your appointment.
Please note:
- Only parents or legal guardians can register a child.
- There is a separate process to apply for out-of-area admissions. Please contact alternative schools or elementary academies directly for more information.
- If your child currently attends child care at a TDSB school that is not your designated home school, and you wish to register for Kindergarten at that school, an out-of-area admissions application may not be required. Please review the Out of Area Admissions Policy and Procedure and, if eligible, proceed with the in-person registration option outlined below.
Early French Immersion
The Early French Immersion program begins in Junior Kindergarten (JK). Families who wish to have their child participate in an Early French Immersion Program must apply in November via www.tdsb.on.ca/pars. For September 2023 entry, the deadline to apply was November 25, 2022. Applications that are submitted after this deadline will be marked as late and accommodated if space in the program is available.
Virtual Learning 2023-24
For students entering Kindergarten in September 2023, a process to select virtual learning will be communicated in May 2023, based on available space. In the meantime, families should complete the registration process with their child’s home school.
