In 2007-08, the Toronto District School Board identified 10 character attributes to be integrated into every school's curriculum and practices. Students, staff, parents/guardians, and community members participated in the selection of these traits.
Character Development encourages students to be and do their best. It creates a safe and caring environment, helps them to develop self-discipline and personal management skills, and to become engaged in their learning.
Each month we focus on one of the following attributes in our school and classrooms.
September: Respect
October: Responsibility
November: Empathy
December: Kindness & Caring
January: Teamwork
February: Fairness
March: Honesty
April: Cooperation
May: Integrity
June: Perseverance
Thank you to our parents for reinforcing and modelling these attributes at home. We ask that parents continue to teach their children how to resolve conflict in a peaceful, respectful manner.
