Churchill Public School is a dynamic Junior Kindergarten to Grade 5 public elementary school located in the north end of Toronto. At Churchill, students work hard to meet high academic standards. Acheivement of the expectations, as outlined by the
Ontario Ministry of Education curriculum, is demonstrated every day in classroom work, through
Toronto District School Board prescribed assessment tools and provincial assessments administered by the
Education Quality and Accountability Office. More importantly, when one walks around our playground or school, the pride in a job well done is most evident on the faces of Churchill students.
The academic program at Churchill is rich with literacy, numeracy, the sciences, social sciences and the arts. Our students enjoy a diverse co-curricular program of academics, athletics, arts and crafts, computers and music. Our school day is often enriched with additional programming that supports our overall school growth plan for the year. Clubs, activities and sports include Silver Birch, Glee Club, Cross Country, Basketball, Volleyball, Track and Field, ECO team ...just to name a few. School assemblies highlight positive character traits. Dramatic arts performers visit Churchill several times each year.
Our parent community is involved in everything we do at Churchill. The School Council organizes many events throughout the school year that strengthen the collaborative relationship between home and school, such as pizza lunches, movie nights, and our popular annual Fun Fair in May. Their fundraising allows for many of the enriched opportunities at the school, and continue to help
enrich classroom program. From field trips to daily classroom assistance, parent volunteers are actively engaged throughout the school and throughout the year.
