Minutes From Meetings (Jan 2019): 

  1. YPT Partnership Continues
  • Primary/Junior Classes have attended plays for $7
  • They have also started coming into classrooms to work with students before and after plays
  • Feb 26 in the morning, six classes (Gr1 to 3) will attend The 26 Letters Dance; 3/4 and 4/5 attended Mary Poppins on November 6th; Grade 5/6 attend Under the Stairs on April 1st

2. Extra-Curricular (Sports) scheduled at this time:

  • Badminton in Feb

3. Play has started

  • The performance is scheduled during the evening of April 30th

4. Important Dates (Carmelo)

  • Starting January 21st (for a month) 10 students and teacher from China visit
  • January 21 and 22 Consent in Real Life Workshops for Grades 5, 6, 7 and 8
  • Ichthyology Club (Fish Club) started with Nadine

5. New Superintendent (Andrew Howard)

  • Visits monthly (next visit scheduled on  Jan. 22) with visiting administrators
  • Shared School Improvement plan and Deer Park goals for the year
  • mathematics (Gr 1-6 teachers released; Kdg teachers/ECE released January 10th and again in February; Gr 7/8 focussing on transitions)

6. Installation of Water Bottle Station is on hold; The TDSB is working out details with the manufacturer

7. Pro Grants

  • we will use the Ministry funding to book Paul Davis-Internet Safety Presentation for parents and students)

8. Changes to staff (Mr Lacey has replaced Ms Crawford; Ms Boomer will be retiring in February)
