School councils represent the school’s entire parent community and are made up of parents, teachers, principals, staff, and community representative(s) who work together to effectively support and enhance student learning. At Diefenbaker, our school council provides one means for members of the school community to provide advice and consult with the Principal, as well as to advise the board. Our Executive Council is made up of two co-chairs, a secretary, and a treasurer, all elected by the parent community. 

We also have 20 elected parent members who, along with the Executive Council, work with the Principal and the staff to foster student achievement through school improvement planning.  At our school council meetings, information is also shared about board and ministry policies and procedures and there are also updates around facilities, budget, health and safety, student enrollment, and staffing. If you wish to contact either of our school council chairs, you may do so at :
