School Council

School Council

School councils are an excellent way for parents to get involved in their child's education. Our school has an elected school council that is an important forum for involving all members of the school community in issues that affect the education of students. The school council is made up of an elected committee of parents and guardians, staff representatives, the principal, and a general membership which includes all parent of children attending the school. The purpose of the council is to actively engage parents to improve student success. School Councils are at the heart of our school communities. By bridging the gap between home and the classroom, you play a vital role in driving student success and keeping our education system accountable, transparent, and deeply connected to families.

School councils put in a tremendous amount of work to complement school initiatives outlined by the Ministry and those that are outside the funded budget.  School councils are able to achieve these goals with fundraising events supported by the community.  As such, the school has been able to purchase and update technological equipment, bring in Arts performances and other school based activities.  By meeting regularly throughout the academic year, School councils provide input from the community on a variety of matters pertaining to school.
