Extended Day Program

Our school has an extended day program. An Extended Day Program (EDP) provide seamless learning for children from Kindergarten to Grade 6 who require care before school starts and at the end of the school day. Children will develop skills such as collaboration, responsibility, problem-solving, creativity, citizenship and leadership through interesting activities. Extended Day Programs will be delivered by TDSB staff including a Designated Early Childhood Educator. Children will receive two nutritious snacks per day. TDSB Extended Day Program

Food for Kids Program

We know that the closure of schools has been difficult for many families, especially those who rely on school-based Student Nutrition Programs. The TDSB and the Toronto Foundation for Student Success have teamed up to provide families at your school with $50 grocery store food cards (one per TDSB student). Welcome To Our School

Glen Ravine Jr. P. S. is located in the South East region of the Toronto District School Board, in the area bounded by Midland Ave. to the west, Brimley Ave. to the east and Eglinton Ave. to the south. The school first opened in 1956, and currently serves approximately 300 students.

Our mission statement is; "Our goal is to instill pride, respect, and responsibility in our students so as to enable them to reach high levels of academic achievement and social success." We want every child to be successful and to be inspired to be a lifelong learner and a contributing member of our community. We partner with parents and other community members to provide our students with the best possible learning opportunities and support.

The staff at Glen Ravine Jr. P. S. is dedicated in their effort to promote a safe, caring and positive learning environment. We encourage our students to utilize effective problem-solving strategies through the use of Second Step, anti-bullying programs, peer mediation, and our Peer Assistants program. Consistent reporting ensures that all student concerns are responded to in a timely manner.

Glen Ravine Jr. P. S. places a strong emphasis on developing the leadership skills of our students, especially our students in the Junior Division. We provide a number of programs that provide leadership opportunities for our students, e.g., Peer Assistants, Office Club, Recycling Crew, Door Monitors, Snack Bin Helpers. etc.
