Good afternoon HCI,
This was a whirlwind week! We had workshops, assemblies, the OSSLT, guest speakers, certification training, sports games, competitions and multiple field trips! While this makes for busy days, these are experiences that bring learning to life while providing real-world and hands-on learning. Thank you to everyone that made these experiences happen! We are now at the halfway mark of semester two and you will be receiving your child's report card in the near future. Should you feel that some academic or social- emotional support is needed, please reach out to the appropriate teacher, alpha guidance counsellor or vice principal. Now is a great time to make a plan for success, and we are here to support!
Please see below for important information about the week ahead.

School Council
HCI Spring Clean-Up --> Looking for ways to get engaged in the Humberside community? Join your friends, neighbours and Humberside Parent Council, for our Humberside Parent Council Spring Clean-Up!
When: Saturday, April 25, 10am-12pm, as part of the City-wide clean-up weekend, Clean Toronto Together.
What: The Humberside tennis courts (where Glendonwynne Rd. meets Quebec Ave., just west of the main driveway)
Why: The school's tennis courts are in rough shape. The area gets heavily used by the community for other activities, including as an off-leash dog park. Gym classes often have to wait for community members to leave the courts, and the caretakers clean up a whole lot of dog waste. We are hoping that if we tidy the adjacent gardens, clean up the tennis courts, and install some signage, we can make it clear to our neighbours that the courts are a classroom and a vital part of our school.
Who: Parents, caregivers, students, and neighbours are all welcome! Volunteer hours available for high school students.
Sounds great! How can I help?
If you'd like to join us for the clean-up, please sign up at the link below so we know how many people to expect. All materials and light snacks will be provided.
