J G Workman Public School

Dear JGW families,

As we head into the home stretch toward the EQAO Assessment, we want to ensure our Grade 3 and 6 students feel confident, prepared, and—most importantly, supported.

Consistency is key, which is why we are encouraging all students to visit the JGW Website weekly. We’ve curated specific resources designed to build stamina and sharpen skills without the "test prep" stress. You can access the resources by clicking on the Math and Literacy tabs.

🌟 Weekly Activities to Check Out:

  • Math Problem of the Week: Every week, we post a new challenge tailored to Grade 3 and 6 curriculum standards. These problems mirror the format of EQAO questions, helping students practice multi-step thinking.
  • Literacy Spotlights: From reading comprehension boosts to creative writing prompts, these activities are designed to help students organize their thoughts and express ideas clearly.

💡 Why visit the JGW Website?

  1. Familiarity: Navigating digital tools now means less anxiety on assessment day.
  2. Bite-Sized Learning: Focusing on just one "Problem of the Week" keeps the workload manageable.
  3. Confidence Building: The more they practice, the more they realize: “I’ve got this!”

Quick Tip: Try sitting with your child for 10 minutes to walk through the "Problem of the Week" together. Asking them to "teach" you the solution is one of the best ways to solidify their understanding.

Please have your child complete the work in the book provided and submit to Mr. Peter

Thank you for your ongoing partnership in your child’s learning journey. Let’s help them shine!
