John Buchan Senior Public School (GR. 07-08)
John Buchan Senior Public School opened in 1969 and was named after the thirty-fifth Governor-General of Canada who served from 1935 - 1940.
Our goal is to create a community of adolescent grade 7 and 8 learners whose intellectual, physical, emotional, and social development is enhanced in a caring, safe and positive environment. Our students learn and practise social responsibility through a focus on Character Education embedded in our academic and co-curricular programs.
We enjoy a diverse population of approximately 240 students drawn from six feeder schools. John Buchan is part of a campus community that includes Pauline Johnson Junior P.S. and Stephen Leacock Collegiate. It is located in the same building as Stephen Leacock.
