Volunteering at Lord Roberts

Police Reference Check Required

Parents/Caregivers are welcome to volunteer at Lord Roberts as we always need volunteers on our trips and assistance with school activities!

A Level 2 – Criminal Record and Judicial Matters Check (CRJMC) will be sufficient for volunteers participating in school activities and day trips. This level of clearance is free for all volunteers. Volunteers participating in overnight excursions, coaching, and direct ongoing contact with students/vulnerable populations will require a Level 3 – Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC).

We recommend visiting the Toronto Police Services website and applying online to receive your clearance by mail. Once you receive your Police Reference Check (PRC) clearance, you must submit it to the Police Reference Check Office to be marked as CLEARED to volunteer.

Before volunteering, you must have a CLEAR status from the PRC Office. Police record checks can be completed online in just a few minutes by applying directly to the police service in the volunteer’s area of residence. Toronto residents must apply to the Toronto Police Service. If you have any questions, please contact the PRC Office at  PoliceReferenceCheckOffice@tdsb.on.ca or your local school for support with the Police Reference Check process.

Important Notes: Volunteers in schools cannot perform activities that are the responsibility of teachers or other Board employees. Volunteer activities must be limited to providing extra support. For more information, please refer to the additional links and Frequently Asked Questions below. If you still require assistance, contact the Police Reference Check Office at  PoliceReferenceCheckOffice@tdsb.on.ca or 416-393-0759, or Michelle Munroe, Central Co-ordinator, Parent/Caregiver and Community Engagement Office, at 416-397-3528.
