Assessment

Assessment

With the assistance of Special Education Resource personnel, we assess our students through observation and documentation of strengths and needs. We include the Resource personnel on our School Support Team. We also discuss any concerns, with parents, through the daily Communication Books and by phone.

All of our students have been involved in the IPRC process. Individual Education Plans are developed in the fall and reviewed during the winter term. Included in the Individual Education Plan (IEP) is the Transition Plan. This includes the school programs and activities that help the student to successfully be included in a post 21 program. A formal Transition Planning meeting is held when the student reaches age eighteen and involves the family directly in the planning.
