School Council

School Council

Parents want the best education for their children. Our goal is to provide your family with a positive learning environment, with a variety of programs and services that promote outstanding student achievement.

Parents are children's first and life-long teachers. We value the partnership between home and school and know that parental involvement is the key to success in school. You can be involved by volunteering in our school, or joining our school council. By welcoming you and providing opportunities for you to be involved, we can work together to ensure that our students receive the very best education.

School councils are an excellent way for parents to get involved in their child`s education. Our school has an elected school council that is an important forum for involving all members of the school community in issues that affect the education of students. Lucy's School Council is made up of an elected committee chair(s), parent volunteers, the principal, and vice-principal. School staff and personnel from TDSB's Professional Services may also attend. The role of a school council is to advise the principal on a variety of issues including student achievement and well-being, school budgetary priorities, school safety, renovation plans, and criteria for selection of new principals. At Lucy, the school council also play a role in supporting families by bringing in guest speakers on pertinent topics.

Parents and Guardians will be notified of meeting dates as they become available
