What is the Grade 9 EQAO Math Assessment?

In Grade 9, mathematics achievement is measured using the expectations set out in the Ontario curriculum. Students work individually to solve problems, write responses, and complete multiple choice questions. Please note that these assessments are snapshots of a student's performance. These assessments supplement the information teachers collect throughout the year from classroom assessments, daily conversations, and conversations with parents/guardians.

Purpose

The purpose of the Grade 9 EQAO Assessment in Mathematics is to identify strengths and areas for improvement in student learning. Please note that success on this assessment is not a diploma requirement.
