Principal's Message

Message from the Principal

Dear Thorncliffe Park families and community members,

My name is Christine Harvey Kerr and I am privileged to be joining the Thorncliffe Park community. Working in the TDSB as teacher, system consultant and administrator has given me the opportunity to work with a variety of diverse school communities. Each community with its own unique strengths. I am impressed with the strong connection Thorncliffe Park has with our neighbours at Fraser Mustard Early Learning Academy and Valley Park Middle School and the wider community. I am excited to be working with such an amazing school.

The school motto “Together We Can” links well with my beliefs. I value the voice of our students, families, community members and staff. I am looking forward to connecting with our families, students, staff and community members over the days and weeks ahead. Some questions I will be asking include:

  • What does our school do well?

  • Are there any obstacles to wellbeing and student learning? What are they?

  • How can we work together to improve?

Along with Mr. Masellis, Ms. Rogers and the staff, I plan to continue the great work at Thorncliffe Park. Our focus will continue to be on nurturing positive relationships, safety, inclusion and high achievement for all students. We will continue our partnerships to strengthen early literacy skills, develop mathematical skills from the new curriculum and enhance skills in STEM.

Please introduce yourself when you see me on the back fields at the beginning and end of the school day. I am confident that we will have a terrific year at Thorncliffe Park P.S.

Sincerely,

Christine Harvey Kerr

Principal
