Safe Arrival Program

As part of our comprehensive effort to improve student safety, Westwood runs a Safe Arrival program. Westwood MS has an automated system that will call parents when their child is absent or late and the school has not received an explanation for the absence or lateness.  A student is considered late if they are not in class by the 8:50 a.m. bell, and the 12:30 p.m. bell. By informing the school in a timely manner of a student’s absence or lateness, this will ensure that you do not receive a call from our automated system.  Our automated system will contact every number attached to your child 3 times, twice a day. Once it starts this cycle, we cannot stop it.  It is very important that the school is aware of your child's whereabouts at all times.

If you are aware that your child will be late or absent, please contact the school by 9:00 a.m., or in the event of an afternoon absence or late, please contact the school by 12:30 p.m. and provide the office with the requested information. Our line is open 24 hours/day and you may leave a message at any time by calling 416-396-2480.

We also ask that you ensure that the office has current contact information so that we can reach you if necessary.
