This meditation continues to introduce the young teenager to the basic skills of meditation, and meditation as a "Happy Place".

Nothing to Do - 10 min

Focusing on the idea of the "Brain Break", this meditation is a great way to teach young teenagers that meditation is a time for doing nothing at all.

Calming Down - 10 min

Continuing to explore the basic skills of meditation, this guided meditation helps young teenagers deal with restlessness, and teaches them that it's a perfectly normal feeling.

Be Here and Now - 10 min

An introductory meditation that helps youngsters appreciate the Here & Now, and meditation as a way to take a "Brain Break" and to become fully present.

Westwood MS is committed to ensuring the mental well being of all our students.  Our staff are compassionate and caring and are always there when students need them.  

If you are seeking ongoing consultation, please speak to your child's teacher.  Arrangements can be made for Social Work and Psychology support.  

In addition to the caring adults in our building, there are a number of other resources students and families may feel comfortable using to address different needs.  Please see below the different organizations that are available to you.
