Dear Parents/Guardians,
Welcome back to the 2017-2018 school year at Westwood Middle School. I hope you had an opportunity to enjoy the summer while spending quality time with family and friends.
As the new principal of Westwood Middle School, I would be remiss if I didn’t recognize Mr. Sprack’s leadership, commitment to excellence and dedication to the Westwood community. We wish him all the best in his future endeavours in his new role in the Toronto District School Board.
Great schools do not just happen by chance, but are created by dedicated staff and supportive parents. I believe in maintaining high expectations for all. I look forward to working collaboratively with parents, students, teachers, and the community in determining the best strategies to impact student learning.
This year our challenge is not to forget the past, but to reflect and be thankful for the good, and let it strengthen our resolve to face the year ahead, and embrace the new challenges and rewards that it will bring.
I am honoured to have the opportunity to work with a group of dedicated teachers and support staff. We will collaborate, to continue to shape the direction and the vision of our school, which will build a capacity for excellence.
