A graduating student who has demonstrated exemplary community involvement
Frank McTeague Peer Tutoring Award
A student who displays exemplary ability to help others, particularly as a peer tutor
Music Council Award
A graduating student of the Music program who has shown versatility, leadership and spirit
J. W. Noseworthy Award
A graduating student with the highest average in Grade 12 University English and History or Politics (Total of 3 courses in combination)
Frank Oke Trophy
The female student who best represents the traditions of York Memorial C. I.
District 12 O.S.S.T.F. Awards
A graduating Grade 12 student who attains the highest average in the following categories:
- Any 2 Grade 12 courses in either Canadian and World Studies or Social Sciences and Humanities
- Any two courses in Grade 12 Science
- A Grade 12 French or International Language
Performance Award
A graduating student who has had major acting roles in at least three school stage productions.
Principal's Award for Student Leadership
A graduating student who has demonstrated leadership, above average academic standing and who has made a significant contribution to the school.
W. F. Reid Award
A graduating student who is pursuing post-secondary studies in Business Administration at College or University.
David Parsons Rowland Award
A graduating student who combines a commitment to study with an outreach role in the school and/or community by assisting persons disadvantaged or needy.
Walt Russell Trophy
A graduating male student who best exemplifies character, sportsmanship, and athletic ability.
School Council Award
A student who, through participation and involvement in school activities, has maintained the traditions of excellence at Y.M.C.I.
David B. Scott Memorial Award
A Grade 11 student who embodies the qualities of humour, compassion, loyalty, initiative, respect, school spirit and enthusiasm; who maintains at least a B+ average and is involved in school life, especially music, drama & athletics. This is presented to honour the memory of David Bruce Scott, a former student of Y.M.C.I.
University of Toronto Book Award
A student who excels in academic pursuits and is actively involved in the life of his or her school and community.
York Memorial Staff/Student Memorial Award.
Established in 1990 as a way of paying tribute to a staff member (teaching or support staff) or student who died while still an active member of the York Memorial community.
A financial award will be presented for a maximum of three years in the name of the deceased individual based on criteria agreed upon by the staff, the family of the deceased, and the principal.
