A graduating student who has made significant contributions to at least three school productions in the technical or stage management areas

Muriel Eisenhut Trophy
The graduating female student who best exemplifies good character, sportsmanship and athletic ability

W. W. Fraser Award
The Grade 12 student with the highest average in University Mathematics (two credits)

A. G. Gillespie Award
The Grade 12 student with the highest average in Grade 12 University English (ENG4U) plus one other Grade 12 University English

Alumni Trophy
The male student who best represents the traditions of York Memorial C. I.

J. W. Ansley Award

  • The Grade 9 student with the highest average
  • The Grade 9 student in the Gifted/R.U.S.H. Program with the highest average
  • The Grade 10 student with the highest average
  • The Grade 10 student in the Gifted/R.U.S.H. Program with the highest average
  • The Grade 11 student in College type courses with the highest average in 7 courses including Grade 11 College English
  • The Grade 11 student in University or University/College type courses with the highest average in 7 courses including Grade 11 University English
  • The Grade 12 student in College type courses with the highest average in 6 courses including Grade 12 College English

Art Department Book Award
This award goes to a deserving graduating student who has shown excellence in creative effort while studying Art at York memorial

Garry Babcock Memorial Award
A graduating student pursuing post-secondary studies who is an outstanding athlete, has good academic achievement and leadership qualities

Doug Barbour Award
A non-graduating Grade 11 or 12 student who has made strong contributions to school activities and is returning to York Memorial C. I. in September

Nan Brien Award for Outstanding Contribution to Drama
A graduating student who has made a significant contribution to several school shows working actively in a variety of roles

William D. Cameron Award
The student with the highest mark in Grade 11 University Chemistry

Citizenship Award
Presented to a graduating student who shows leadership, community awareness and other qualities that exemplify good citizenship

Headmaster's Award
The Grade 12 students with the second and third average in 6 Grade 12 University or University/College or College courses

Harris Hill Award
The Grade 12 student who obtains the highest mark in Grade 12 Dramatic Arts

T. H. Houghton Award
The Grade 12 student with the highest average in Grade 12 Music

 

Jill Kelly Trophy
A graduating student who has demonstrated significant growth in social and academic skills

Lieutenant Governor's Community Volunteer Award for Students
A graduating student who has demonstrated exemplary community involvement

Frank McTeague Peer Tutoring Award
A student who displays exemplary ability to help others, particularly as a peer tutor

Music Council Award
A graduating student of the Music program who has shown versatility, leadership and spirit

J. W. Noseworthy Award
A graduating student with the highest average in Grade 12 University English and History or Politics (Total of 3 courses in combination)
 

Frank Oke Trophy
The female student who best represents the traditions of York Memorial C. I.

District 12 O.S.S.T.F. Awards
A graduating Grade 12 student who attains the highest average in the following categories:

  • Any 2 Grade 12 courses in either Canadian and World Studies or Social Sciences and Humanities
  • Any two courses in Grade 12 Science
  • A Grade 12 French or International Language

Performance Award
A graduating student who has had major acting roles in at least three school stage productions.

Principal's Award for Student Leadership
A graduating student who has demonstrated leadership, above average academic standing and who has made a significant contribution to the school.

W. F. Reid Award
A graduating student who is pursuing post-secondary studies in Business Administration at College or University.

David Parsons Rowland Award
A graduating student who combines a commitment to study with an outreach role in the school and/or community by assisting persons disadvantaged or needy.

Walt Russell Trophy
A graduating male student who best exemplifies character, sportsmanship, and athletic ability.

School Council Award
A student who, through participation and involvement in school activities, has maintained the traditions of excellence at Y.M.C.I.

David B. Scott Memorial Award 
A Grade 11 student who embodies the qualities of humour, compassion, loyalty, initiative, respect, school spirit and enthusiasm; who maintains at least a B+ average and is involved in school life, especially music, drama & athletics. This is presented to honour the memory of David Bruce Scott, a former student of Y.M.C.I.

University of Toronto Book Award 
A student who excels in academic pursuits and is actively involved in the life of his or her school and community.

York Memorial Staff/Student Memorial Award. 
Established in 1990 as a way of paying tribute to a staff member (teaching or support staff) or student who died while still an active member of the York Memorial community.

A financial award will be presented for a maximum of three years in the name of the deceased individual based on criteria agreed upon by the staff, the family of the deceased, and the principal.
