FRIDAY JUNE 13:

 

Eco Team:

Congratulations to  Duke of Connaught on achieving Platinum status once again! This achievement is a reflection of the hard work that the entire school does throughout the year.  Classroom lessons planned by teachers, special projects run by individual classrooms, initiatives supported by our school administration, support from parents and events run by our own very hard working eco team..  Congratulations on doing great work for our school and for the environment. Shuffle Dance Club:

A reminder to Grade 4 and 5 that we will meet today at lunch at 11:05 am in Room 52. Bring your indoor shoes, water bottle and lunch. See you later! - Mme. Chan

 

Camp Wahanowin - Grade 8:

Attention all Grade 8’s headed to Camp Wahanowin on Monday!  Listen up for some final reminders.

  • Departure:
    Students are to arrive by 8:00 a.m. on Monday, June 16. We will be meeting in the Woodfield Gym for attendance and final preparations before departure.  Meet outside Door 9A.

  • No Cellphones: Students are not to bring cellphones to camp. Make sure you leave them at home on Monday

  • Medications:I f you are bringing any medication to camp, please make sure you complete the required Medication Form and place it in a clearly labelled ziplock bag along with the medication. You will hand this in to Ms. Oliveira on Monday morning before departure.

Return & Pick-Up:
We expect to return to school on Thursday, June 19 around 3:00 p.m. Arrange a pick up with your parents if needed.

 

Chess Club:

Chess Club is on today at lunch from 11:15 to 11:45 in Rooms 24 and 30. See you there! - Mr. Boccia, Mr. Roberts

 

 

 

THURSDAY JUNE 12:

 

Play Day - Thursday, Friday: 

A reminder that Duke Playdates will be running all day today and will continue tomorrow as well.  Teachers, please review the schedule to ensure your classes come down at your assigned times. We kindly ask that you wait for the announcement before coming down with your students.  Also a reminder that morning and afternoon recess  will be happening at the front of the school, while the back will be used to host the play dates.  Thank you and enjoy your day! - Mme. Grade 8 Camp Wahanowin:

A reminder to all Grade 8’s going to Camp Wahanowin, your Behaviour Expectations form in due tomorrow. You must hand the form  in to Ms. Oliveira or Ms. Newman. Reminder to  pack any medications you are bringing to camp in a ziplock bag with the appropriate form and hand in to Ms. Oliveira on Monday. - Ms. Oliveira

 

Library Helpers:

All Library Helpers who are attending today’s field trip - please ensure that your attendance is completed, and then meet us in the front foyer at the end of these announcements. - Ms. Austin

 

Grade 7/8 Boys Cricket:

Yesterday the boys completed a tournament for cricket and played with determination and resilience. Throughout the day coaches and parents witnessed an excellent effort displayed. The boys were 4-1 and clinched the conference championship with 60 runs and a knocked down wicket to end the game. A special thank you to Charlotte for filling in in a pinch. LIbrary Helpers:

A reminder to all Library Helpers - we have a field trip on Thursday.  Please ensure your EMA form is completed.  Go to your homeroom for attendance on Thursday morning, then meet in the front foyer at 8:30 am.  Please make sure to pack a lunch! - Ms. Austin

 

Track and Field Finals:

We’re incredibly proud to recognize the amazing effort of our students who represented our school yesterday at the Track and Field City Finals.  They competed against the top athletes from schools across the entire city of Toronto!  Making it to this level is such a huge accomplishment.  The day was filled with excitement, energy, and incredible performances. Congratulations to you all.  We are SO proud of you. - Ms. Oliveira

MONDAY JUNE 9:

 

Grade 7/8 Ultimate Frisbee: 

Congratulations to the grade 7/8 Ultimate Frisbee team on an amazing season! On June 5th, our team played a tough game in the conference finals. While the outcome wasn't what we hoped for, please know that they played with incredible integrity and truly left it all out on the field. The team should be incredibly proud of their effort and sportsmanship! - Ms Newman & Mme McCormack 

 

Grade 8 - Camp Wahanowin:

Grade 4-8 Track and Field City Finalists:

Attention all Track and Field students who have qualified for the CIty Finals, results from the Conference Finals are posted outside the SH Gym.  A reminder that City Finals are tomorrow.  We will be meeting at 7:45 am outside the Woodfield Gym doors.  All students who are not being transported by their parents must meet at this time as there is only ONE bus trip to Birchmount, at 7:45 am.  Please dress appropriately for the day, bring a hat and wear sunscreen.  A reminder to also pack a lunch with plenty of drinks.  There will be one bus return at 3:30 pm, at the end of the Meet. Good luck to everyone! Practices today for Javelin, Shot Put and relay teams will take place today at 10:40 am in the back field.  Teachers, please release these students at this time. - Ms. Oliveira

Lost and Found:

Teachers - Please bring your students down to view the lost and found this week. Anything not collected by Friday afternoon will be removed.  Students - Please come and look through our lost and found tables in the front hall. There are a number of items looking for their home. We will be removing all the items on Friday June 13.

 

Girls 5/6 Volleyball:
