We want to ensure our students experience a safe, inclusive, and successful school year. To deliver on this goal, we need your help in the following ways:

• Report student absences through the automated safe arrival system by 8:30 a.m. To report a student absent, please call 416-396-6650.

• Park safely on local side streets, use the drop-off loop ONLY for dropping off (do not park or exit your vehicle), or walk to school to ensure a safe arrival for all.

• Students should remain home when exhibiting signs of illness.

• Review, support, and follow our Code of Conduct to ensure a positive experience for all students, parents/guardians, and staff members here at Davis.

• Engage in regular communication with your child's teacher(s).

Volunteering at Davis

We rely on our amazing volunteers to help with special events, field trips, and school fundraising activities. If you are interested in volunteering or getting involved with our School Council, please get in touch with the school at 416-396-6650. The office will be able to provide you with all the necessary information to become a volunteer at William G. Davis, including how to complete the required criminal background check or the annual offense declaration. 

School Security and Parking:

Our drop-off loop in front of the school is a FIRE ROUTE and therefore NO PARKING is permitted. 

Please note the City has imposed a no-left turn rule at the exit of our driveway.  This is for the safety of those using the Crosswalk.  

Any adults visiting the school during school hours (8:30-3:30) MUST sign in at the main office and receive a visitors pass.  All exterior doors are locked during the school day. Entry is through the main doors using the buzzer. This is for the safety of all students and staff. 

If you would like to speak to your child’s teacher, please call the office to make an appointment.  If you need to pick up your child for an appointment, please go to the office and your child will be called down.  You will also need to sign out your child out. At the end of the day, students will exit the building through their designated dismissal door, not the front door.  Please arrange a suitable location to meet your child outside the school building.

Pick-up and Drop-offs:

Parking is always a difficult thing especially at our school when we have such few spots.   We will continue with the parking policy that has been created in partnership with Parent Council. For students in grades 1-6 the kiss and ride drop off will be used. For parents of kindergarten students, we ask that you park on a side street so that you may walk you child to their designated classroom entrance. I ask that parents and guardians do not park in the school parking lot during entry and exit times as these spaces are needed by teaching and support staff, volunteers, and professional support services working in the school.

Recognizing Birthdays:

Our school is NUT FREE, therefore we do not allow students to bring food from home to share with friends (i.e. cupcakes, cookies, etc.).  

Student birthdays will be recognized on our morning announcements and students will be offered a birthday pencil and sticker.
