Literacy at Home

The TDSB Homework Policy recommends that primary students read every night for a minimum of 10 minutes, and junior students for a minimum of 20 minutes. Please encourage your children to create a positive reading habit. It is beneficial if students read a variety of texts (websites, newspapers, graphic novels, comics, story books, non-fiction informational books, poems, magazines, etc.)

Families and caregivers can support reading development at home in many ways. Please check out the tips below to support children’s language in the following key areas:
