Welcome to CALC
About CALC Secondary School
CALC Secondary School's EdVance Program
provides an academic program for students ages
18 to 20
who are working toward their
Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD).
Our program supports students with a range of
educational goals and pathways, including
college, university, apprenticeship,
and the workplace.
CALC offers a flexible secondary school environment
designed to help students continue earning credits
and make progress toward graduation. Students have
access to academic programming and student supports
as they work toward their individual educational
and post-secondary goals.
Learning in Quads
The school year at CALC Secondary School is divided
into
four quads (quadmesters),
beginning in
September, November, February, and April.
Each quad is approximately
nine weeks long.
Students typically take a minimum of
two courses per quad,
with each course running for approximately
two hours each day.
At the end of each quad, students who successfully
complete their courses earn credits toward their
OSSD. The quad system allows students to focus on
fewer courses at a time while continuing to make
steady progress toward graduation.
Joining CALC Secondary School
The EdVance Program is designed primarily for
students ages
18–20,
including students who need additional credits
to complete their OSSD. Graduates may also be
eligible to enrol.
