The electronic translation service on the Toronto District School Board website is hosted by Google Translate, a third party service. The TDSB does not guarantee or warrant the reliability, accuracy or completeness of any translated information.

The quality of the translation will vary in some of the languages offered by Google. Google Translate is a free service and currently offers translation in over 100 languages, but does not capture all languages or dialects.

The basic translation goal is to capture the general intention of the original English material. Before you act on translated information, we encourage you to confirm any facts that are important to you or may affect any decisions you make.

At CALC Secondary School, athletics are about more than competition. Our intramural and recreational programs give students opportunities to stay active, meet new people, build connections, and be part of the school community. Whether you want to compete, try something new, or simply play for fun, there are opportunities to get involved throughout the school year.

There's More Than One Way to Get in the Game

From casual daily activities to tournaments and sports field trips, CALC provides different ways for students to participate, stay active, and connect with the school community.

Intramural Tournaments

Intramural sports are an important part of student life at CALC. Students can form teams, compete with their peers, and enjoy friendly competition through our soccer tournaments. Beginning this year, CALC is also expanding its intramural program to include basketball tournaments.

Daily Activities

Students don't have to wait for a tournament to get active. Daily recreational opportunities include drop-in soccer, basketball, badminton, pickleball, and table tennis. Students of different skill and experience levels are encouraged to join in.

Inter-School Tournaments

CALC students have opportunities to represent the school in one-day basketball, volleyball, and soccer tournaments with students from other adult schools. These events bring together competition, teamwork, school spirit, and plenty of fun.

Sports Field Trips

The Physical Education department also organizes field trips that allow students to experience sport beyond the school. Recent trips have included CEBL basketball games at the Pan Am Sports Centre and a TFC II soccer match.

Inter-school tournaments are a highlight of athletics at CALC. They give students the chance to compete together, represent their school, meet students from other adult schools, and celebrate what they can accomplish as a team.

🏀 Something to Play Every Day

Getting involved in athletics at CALC doesn't require joining a competitive team. Drop-in activities give students a chance to take a break, get moving, spend time with friends, and meet other students. Whether you're an experienced player or trying a sport for the first time, you're welcome to participate.

Competing Together

CALC participates in one-day tournaments with other adult schools in soccer, basketball, and volleyball. For students, these events are an opportunity to put their skills into action, work together as a team, and proudly represent the CALC community.

🎟️ Experiencing Sport Beyond CALC

Athletics at CALC also extends beyond our own gym and playing spaces. The Physical Education department organizes field trips that give students opportunities to experience live sport together.

For the past two years, students have attended a CEBL basketball game at the Pan Am Sports Centre. Students have also had the opportunity to attend a TFC II soccer match. These experiences give students another way to connect with sport, their classmates, and the wider community.
