Ontario Certified Teachers and the Professional Standards
The Professional Standards for Ontario Certified Teachers (OCTs) set out a shared vision for teaching in Ontario. They reflect the commitment by OCTs to support student learning and well-being, foster inclusive and equitable learning environments, uphold ethical practices, and engage in ongoing professional learning.
For parents and families, the standards provide confidence that OCTs hold themselves accountable to clear expectations for professional practice and are committed to helping every student learn, succeed, and reach their full potential.
