Cheronne Thurab - Chair

As a parent and active member of our school community, I am pleased to submit my candidacy for School Council Chair.

Having served as Executive School Council Secretary at Chief Dan George Public School during the 2025–2026 school year, I have seen firsthand the value of strong, collaborative leadership and transparent communication.

My focus as Chair will be on strengthening parent engagement, supporting student enrichment programs, and ensuring our school council remains an open, inclusive, and effective voice for all families. I would be honoured to earn your vote and continue serving our school community.

Lyle Bradbury - Chair

That is what I want for every child at Chief Dan George.

My name is Lyle Bradbury, and I am the father of Shemar in Grade 5 and Layla in Grade 2. I am putting my name forward for School Council because parents should have a meaningful voice in their children’s education and school experience.

Professionally, I am a Certified Financial Planner and Chartered Investment Manager with more than 15 years of experience in Financial Planning and Regulatory Oversight. I have served on condominium boards and helped develop educational and examination content for financial professionals across Canada. These experiences have taught me how to manage budgets responsibly, ask important questions, bring different perspectives together, and turn good ideas into practical results.

I have also helped organize residents within a new Whitby community through a neighbourhood group of approximately 400 homeowners. By working with residents and local politicians we were able to prioritize initiatives and  influence both the design and name of a new community park. That experience showed me what an engaged community can accomplish when people organize around a shared goal.

At CDG, I want to help create more activities, sports, and thoughtful fundraising initiatives that build school spirit, increase student participation, and enhance learning—including opportunities that connect academics with sports, real-life skills, and the interests that motivate our children.

My goal is simple: a school where our children are fit, having fun, happy to participate, and receiving the education they deserve.

Subasini Vimuththan, CPA

I am a Certified Professional Accountant (CPA) and Senior Financial Analyst with over 15 years of experience in the healthcare and non-profit sectors.Throughout my career, I have developed strong expertise in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and supporting financial decision-making and accountability.

I previously served as Co-Treasurer and later Treasurer of the Chief Dan George Public School Parent Council, where I supported the Council’s financial management, maintained financial records, prepared financial reports and assisted with fundraising activities.

I have also actively volunteered at CDG through Asian Heritage Month and Tamil Heritage Month events, contributing to an inclusive and engaged school community.

As a CDG parent with three children currently in French Immersion and another child who will be joining the school, I am committed to using my financial expertise and Council experience to support responsible stewardship of school funds and meaningful opportunities for all CDG students
