Arts & Academics

Arts, Hearts and Minds

Claude Watson School for the Arts (CWSA) was established in the early 1980s to provide students with a unique educational experience combining academic excellence with artistic development.

Serving students in Grades 4 to 8, CWSA offers a comprehensive academic program alongside specialized instruction in Dance, Dramatic Arts, Music and Visual Arts.

Our educational philosophy recognizes that academic learning and artistic expression complement one another. Through a challenging and engaging curriculum, students are encouraged to develop creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, confidence and a lifelong appreciation of the arts.

Our Learning Environment

Located in the Yonge and Sheppard neighbourhood, Claude Watson School for the Arts features facilities designed to support both academic and artistic learning.

Our school includes academic classrooms, a dedicated dance studio, music rooms, art studios, a drama studio, a gymnasium, a multipurpose room and a library.

These learning spaces provide opportunities for students to explore their artistic interests, develop technical skills, collaborate with their peers and share their learning through performances, exhibitions and other creative experiences.
