Some Useful Math Sites

Find out what is expected of all Ontario students.
  • Look at what is in our Ontario Curriculum for Mathematics
  • Visit the EQAO site and see the questions grade 3 and grade 6 students are asked AND see what responses would generate a score of level 3 or level 4.
Doing Math With Your Child provides concrete suggestions about what parents can do with their children on a daily basis. Available in many languages.
 
Virtual Manipulatives - Would it be easier to do your homework if you had the manipulatives? Check out the National Library of Virtual Manipulatives which offers all sorts of possibilities. This site also has some ideas that you can explore. 

mathFROG is a site offered by the University of Waterlook with challenges to grade 4, 5 and 6 students based on the Ontario Curriculum. They also provide Math Contests for students in grades 7 and older. Our Dixon Grove team will be competing on May 14, 2014.

Homework Help - Are you in Grade 7 or Grade 8 (or Grade 9 or Grade 10)? Want free tutoring? Try it out! Homework Help is run by TVO's Indpendent Learning Centre with support from the Ontario government. Register for free using your student number that is on your report card.

NRich is a British site that offers great discussions, problems, magazine articles and interactive applets for deepening understanding of a broad range of mathematics topics. Good from Kindergarten to Grade 12!

Prodigy -  Are you in Grades 1 to 6? At Prodigy, you can play Math Games that are connected to what you are learning in class. Have fun while you practice!
