FRIDAY MAY 2:

 

Boys 5/6 Slo Pitch Tryouts:

The final tryout for the boys 5/6 slo Pitch team will take place today after school in the back field.  Please be on time and bring a glove if  you have one.  See you there. - Mr. Boccia, Mr. Pedlar

 

Eco Team:

Eco Team meets today at lunch in room 212.  We will be taking our picture for the yearbook as well as finishing off some initiatives.  See you there.

 

Chess Club:

Chess Club is on today! Please come to Rooms 24 and 30 from 11:15 am to 11:45 am. See you there! - Mr. Roberts, Mr. Boccia

 

Shuffle Dance Club:

There is a VERY important meeting today for the Shuffle Dance Club. We will meet today at lunch at 11:05 in Room 52. Bring your indoor shoes, water bottle and lunch. See you later! - Mme. Chan

 

Origami Club:

Grade 7 & 8 Track & Field Team:

A reminder to all Grade 7 and 8 Track & Field team members, practices start today! You must attend your practices in order to attend the Track meet on May 13. Reminder to  complete your permission form on EMA. - Ms. Oliveira

 

Grade 7 & 8 Relay Team:

A reminder to all Gr. 6, 7 and 8 relay team members (4X100) of practice today at after school.  Meet on the back track at 2:45 pm. - Ms. Oliveira

 

Javelin & Shot Put:

A reminder to all javelin and shot put team members of practice today at lunch.  Please meet in the back field. - Ms. Oliveira

 

Grade 4,5 & 6 Track and Field:

All Grade 4,5, & 6 students who finished in the top 3 in the track and field events, there is a mandatory meeting to determine event competitors today at 10:40 am in the Woodfield Gym. Teachers, please excuse these students at this time. - Ms. Newman

 

80m, 100m and 200m:

Practices for the 80m, 100m and 200m start today at lunch in the back field. Team members are asked to meet Mr Pedlar on the track at lunch. - Mr. Pedlar

 

Running Long Jump:

Practices for the running long jump team begin today at AM recess in the back field. Meet Mr Pedlar by the long jump pit for your first practice today. - Mr. Pedlar

 

Junior Choir:

There will be a Junior Choir rehearsal today at lunch in Room 204. This is a mandatory rehearsal as we are taking our choir picture. See you there! - Ms. Pierce

 

Grade 7/8 All-Gender Cricket:

Cricket tryouts will resume today after school in the back field. See you all there and be sure to have your EMA forms completed.- Mr. Archibald, Mr. Feely

 

Run Club: 

Run Club Starts tomorrow morning out on the track. This is a fun run that is open to anyone. Come on out and Run! See you there! - Mme. May, Mr. Pedlar

Grade 4/5/6 80m Race-Off:

A reminder to all Gr.4,5 and 6 students who finished in the top 10 for the 80m.  The race-off to determine the event competitor and the relay teams is today!!! Please meet at 10:40 am in the Woodfield Gym. - Ms. Newman

 

Grade 5/6 Girls Slo Pitch:

A reminder to all Grade 5/6 girls interested in trying out for the Duke slo pitch team that the first try-out is today after school in the back field.  Make sure your EMA forms are filled out online before the tryout.  See you there. - Mr. Pedlar, Mr. Boccia

 

The Great Gulp:

Today is the Day! Duke will celebrate World Water Day at 2:15pm when we will try to get the entire school to take a collective drink of water.  Make sure you have your water bottle filled this afternoon. - Eco Team

Great Gulp:

In a final celebration of Earth Month, the Eco Team will be recognizing The Great Gulp on Wednesday April 30th (The final Day of April). We will be coordinating a collective drink of cold water to recognize the good fortune we all have to have access to clean drinking water in our community and school.  On Wednesday get your bottles ready to gulp! - Eco Team

Grade All-Gender Cricket:

Unfortunately due to the Election voting taking place in the SH gym cricket tryouts have been rescheduled to tomorrow at lunch in the SH gym. If you haven’t already done the EMA, please make sure it is completed before tomorrow’s tryout.- Mr. Archibald, Mr. Feely
