Start of Year Forms: Important Information

 In preparation for the beginning of the 2026-27 school year, the Toronto District School Board will soon email all families directly with a link to Start of Year forms for your student(s). Please watch for a message from noreplyregistration@powerschool.com on September 1, 2026 and complete the online forms for your student as soon as possible prior to the first day of school on September 8, 2026.   

Start of Year Forms ensure that the school has up-to-date and accurate student information on file, as well as consent for school activities. It is very important that these forms are completed in a timely manner and will help ensure a smooth start to the school year. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

What You Need to Know for the First Day of School:

Drop Off:

At morning drop-off on the first day, Earl Beatty staff members will be circulating all drop-off areas.  These staff members (including Ms. Maier & Ms. Tadros) will have clipboards with full class lists.  If you do not receive an email or are unsure of your child’s class or where to go, we will be happy to assist. Morning drop-off begins at 8:02 pm (see school hours) 

There will be a  “Back to School” photo booth set up near the library stairs (off  Wolverleigh). Feel free to stop by to say hello and take a First Day of School photo.

We ask parents to remain outside of the school, as students orient themselves to the school routine and begin learning immediately.  We will have helping hands at the ready to support a smooth transition.

Kindergarten (JK/SK):

English kindergarten students will be dropped off/picked up in the kindergarten “playground area”, using the gate on Woodington Ave.  

French Immersion kindergarten students will be dropped off/picked up in the “nature area” off Wolverleigh Blvd. For the first day, students in Mme Grant’s class will use the toddler playground area (closest to the main entrance) for drop-off and pick-up.  

Grades 1-8

All students in Grades 1-8 will enter through the back of the school using the gates off Woodington and Glebeholme. Classes will line up with their teachers near their assigned entry door. 

Class Entry Doors and Staff List

In Case of Rain:

Kindergarten students will enter through the kindergarten yard and go to the “kindergarten hallway,”. Staff members will greet the students and accompany them to their classrooms.

Grades 1-8 Classes will enter through doors 7 and 8 and will proceed directly to the Primary (1st and 2nd Floor) or Junior-Intermediate (3rd Floor) hallways, where they will meet their teachers. 

Lunches: 

Weather permitting, students in Grades 1-8 will start the school year with outdoor lunches.  All students will be outside at 11:05 am to eat their lunches, and remain out for the rest of the hour to play.  

Permission forms and expectations for Grades 4-8 students will be shared in a separate email the first week of school.

Beatty's Bistro Snack Program will not be running the first week of school.  More information about our Student Nutrition Program is coming soon! 

A reminder that Earl Beatty has a Litterless Boomerang Lunch Program.  Students are expected to take all waste generated from their own lunches back home.  This is critical for our outdoor lunches, as we want to deter wasps and wildlife as well as keep our school grounds clean, beautiful and free of litter.  

All students should come to school with full reusable water bottles.

Visiting the School:

If you are visiting the school for any reason, it is important to begin your visit at the Main Office.  This applies to recesses and lunch as well.  Please do not enter the yard directly to speak with your child(ren) during school hours.  We do our very best to keep everyone safe, and it is important that all adults visiting the school check in with the office and, if they are remaining in the building, get a Visitor Badge.  

Labels on Clothing:

Last year there were several items left at the end of the year that were not returned to students. We consistently see a very large number of items in our lost and found.  Families are encouraged to use name labels or write names on any clothing that comes to school.  Items in the lost and found that have name labels are returned to the students.
