School Advisory Council

Get Involved! We Want You!

School Advisory Councils are an excellent way for parents to get involved in their child's education. Our school has an elected School Advisory Council that is an important forum for involving all members of the school community. The Council is made up of an elected committee of parents, staff and student representatives, appointed community members, the Principal, and a general membership which includes all parents or guardians of children attending the school. The Council plays a consultative role with the Principal on a variety of issues and activities relating to student achievement, curriculum goals and priorities, school budget priorities, school safety, renovation plans, extra-curricular activities and events, and the Statement of School Needs used for the appointment of new Principals. 

GRG is proud of our active School Advisory Council

In the past, our amazing Council has built community and achieved many goals.  For example, GRG SAC has successfully received Ministry of Education Parent Reaching Out Grants and a grant from the Etobicoke Rotary Club to purchase new classroom and library books.  We also fundraise to support class trips (e.g., busing costs, subsidies for those who need them) and other initiatives, and host events just for the sake of community fun.

Volunteers Needed!

We need you! Yes, we need volunteers to help at our many events throughout the year...for example Pumpkin Carving,  Community Event Nights, and ..stay tuned for what else!  Even if you can only assist at one event, we greatly appreciate the contribution.
