Glenview Mission Statement::
“A place to learn, a time to grow, education to last a lifetime!”
2018/19 School Year
Glenview is a vibrant large senior school with over 775 students in Grades 7 and 8. We welcome students into our regular English program, French Immersion and Extended French. Students are involved in a wide-variety of activities such as sports, music, drama, arts-based programs and technology. We offer leadership opportunities to our students through our Student Parliament, Board initiatives such as Super Council and school-wide events.
The grade 8s continue to learn more about High Schools and the programs they offer. Open Houses to welcome community to learn more about programs offered have been occurring. Our Guidance Counsellor will spend time with our grade 8s to review and complete course selections starting on January 21st. She aims to complete the paper course selection by January 30th.
Next week, Wednesday, January 23rd, we have our annual Open House to welcome grade 7 students for September 2019. All students attending our regular feeder schools, living within the Glenview catchment area, will be transferred automatically to Glenview from their Junior School. Students wishing to apply to the Extended French Program must do so by Monday, February 4th. Please return completed Extended French Program applications to your Junior School and they will be forwarded to us. Should we have more applicants than spots available, we will follow the TDSB policy and a lottery system will determine the applicants for the program.
Please note, all of our regular feeder schools will be receiving, in the near future, a general information registration sheet (colour coded and double sided) for incoming Grade 7 students. Please ensure that you carefully complete that sheet once received and return it to your school.

Glenview Senior Public School was opened in 1966 to give our grades 7 and 8 students a period of transition and adjustment between the neighbourhood elementary school and the large secondary school. A formal Mission Statement was adopted to serve as a guideline for positive change and to provide a framework to define relationships with students, staff, parents and the community.
We offer programs that aim to foster academic development, a love of learning, critical and creative thinking and the ability to adapt to change.
We are dedicated to providing an environment in which our students build self-esteem and confidence, value differences and learn to work together in mutual respect and trust.
We recognize that these objectives are best promoted when students, staff, parents, administrators, the Toronto District School Board and the wider community work in partnership. We trust that Your child’s Glenview experience will be a positive one. We are looking forward to getting to know all of you and to working with your children.
