Where Can I Apply?
Students who reside within the City of Toronto have the right to attend a school which is designated to serve their residential address. The "Find Your School" section of the website identifies the designated schools for each residential address.
Students also have the opportunity to access 2 Regular Schools and 2 Specialized Programs/Schools outside their home school.
Acceptance at these schools is subject to space availability and program suitability. The procedures, conditions and timelines relating to optional attendance are described in the Optional Attendance Policy and the Optional Attendance Operational Procedure.

Alternative Schools
The TDSB offers 21 alternative schools at the secondary level. Each school is a close-knit, highly engaged, diverse community that offers a fresh and unique approach to learning.
Alternative schools are places where students find their way through learning environments that vary widely and often include self-directed projects, experiential learning, business and entrepreneurial mentorship programs, strong co-op programs and credit recovery opportunities - all while earning OSSD credits.
Here you may find extraordinary art and word galleries, classrooms with comfy couches, and teachers mentoring their students. These are schools where students need a new way - to find their way. And they do.
