Newcomer Immigrant Settlement Program

Newcomer Immigrant Settlement Program Offered at Gracedale Public School

Gracedale Public School provides settlement services for newcomer immigrant parents in partnership with (NYCH) North York Community House’s SEPT (Settlement Workers in Schools program). Our SEPT worker provides FREE and confidential information and referrals on: employment, English language learning, library materials in many languages, information on housing for your family, schooling and general education, health care, the law, immigration, and many other issues. The SEPT worker also organizes various series of workshops for parents, grandparents, and for the whole family, mostly delivered at the school.

The recent Social Media Literacy Project series at Gracedale Public School was a big success in 2012. Parents & caregivers increased their knowledge in computer literacy and social media. The demand was so high for the last series that we are thinking to start a second round.
