Nutrition Snack Program

Student Nutrition Added Program (S.N.A.P)

What is S.N.A.P.?

S.N.A.P. is our very own Student Nutrition Added Program. It is also known as the snack program. With the support from the “Toronto Foundation for Student Success”, H.A. Halbert Jr. P.S.'s healthy snack program was able to start again this October, 2014.  Our program will be offered to students on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays for ALL students who have returned their nutrition forms.

We've got great news!

We are currently at 75% student enrollment with our goal of 100% student enrollment quickly approaching. Enrolling your child is as easy as signing a nutrition form and returning it to school. We are asking for a monthly donation of $10 per child to assist with the maintenance of our program. However if you are unable to make a contribution this month, simply sign your child's form if you have not already done so, so that your child can begin enjoying a healthy mid-morning snack. Nutrition forms are available in the office.

Our students are fed fresh ORGANIC fruits and vegetables that are in season, peanut-free low sodium and low preservative crackers and a serving of dairy (milk, cheese, yogurt).

Once again we would like to thank you for participating in our student nutrition program. We appreciate all feedback and contribution to the program through volunteering and donations. This amazing program would not be as successful without you.

* The Nutrition Program Sign Up Form is available at the front desk in the school office. You may also download it, by clicking on the following link: SNAP info letter and Registration Form.docx Please complete and return it to the office as soon as possible so that your child can receive their healthy snacks. Thank you!
