We at Harrison Public School, continue to develop our library into a Library Learning Commons.
“A Learning Commons is a vibrant, whole-school approach, presenting exciting opportunities for collaboration among teachers, teacher-librarians, and students. Within a Learning Commons, new relationships are formed between learners, new technologies are realized and utilized, and both students and educators prepare for the future as they learn new ways to learn.” (Ontario Library Association [OLA], 2010, p.3)
It is the mission of our teacher-librarian to encourage and support all students and teachers to become lifelong learners as well as agents of change.
Our school board has developed a web page for our library. The intention in creating this is:
- to give the school library a web presence
- to provide equitable access to central digital resources for all our students
- to provide a one-stop digital resource page for student research
