It’s very important that you consider if our school is a good fit for your child as a learner and a part of a community. While the central process allows for applications to be processed, we would love to receive an email to horizon_alt@hotmail.com about why you (the student) wishes to attend Horizon. This is optional; however, it provides us with insight into why students are looking at the Horizon program.

How do I apply?

In January 2023, TDSB will be launching a new centralized online application form and admissions process for all elementary alternative schools’ 2023-2024 school year admissions. Applications and admissions will no longer be managed by the individual elementary alternative schools.

Student applications are submitted to TDSB between January 16-February 16th for the upcoming school year at elementary alternative schools. In late February, a Board approved third-party random selection software is used to rank order student applicants adhering to TDSB identified equity priority groups. If more applicants apply than spots available, they will be placed on a waitlist in order listed by the random selection software. Admission offers are made in March by TDSB. If initial TDSB admission offers are declined by applicants, then the next person on the waitlist will be made an offer.
